The Better Not Younger Female Entrepreneur Scholarship
The Better Not Younger brand focuses on providing women with a range of products that meet their unique beauty needs as they age. We put the emphasis on helping women feel their very best every day of their lives. This founding principle applies not just to products, but to fostering the success of female entrepreneurs throughout the business world. We’re offering our support through our Female Entrepreneur Scholarship.
After 25+ years on the business side of beauty at L’Oréal and P&G, Sonsoles Gonzalez found herself wondering where the product for aging hair was. When she couldn’t find it, she decided to create it. Formulated for women in their 40s and beyond, Better Not Younger is the only hair care line that acknowledges, repairs and restores women’s aging hair. At Better Not Younger, we believe that everyday represents an opportunity to be better. That aging unlocks potential.
We want to provide support for other female entrepreneurs who have a service or product that will make a real difference in the world. If you have an idea for a business that solves a problem, you may be following in Sonsoles Gonzalez’s footsteps. Start taking charge of your future now by considering applying for our scholarship. One winner will receive the $2,500, Female Entrepreneur Scholarship. When Sonsoles Gonzalez founded Better Not Younger in 2018, she took the leap every founder takes: the leap into the unknown. Entrepreneurship is a daily challenge and we want to support young female founders. Please put together a pitch deck telling us about your business, including the concept, the niche in the market it fills, the problem(s) it solves, and the challenges you’ve overcome.
Female entrepreneurs are making constant inroads into the business world. There are more than 1,000 women-owned businesses opening every day around the country. In fact, businesses owned by women have opened in excess of the national average for businesses since the year 2017. As of 2019, there were over 11 million businesses owned by women just in the U.S.
However, female entrepreneurs face many extensive challenges. Around 20% of all small businesses around the country will not last through their first year of operation. 50% of small businesses do not successfully operate for more than five years. Here at Better Not Younger, we want to help female entrepreneurs get the best start possible for their business.
In order to apply for the Female Entrepreneur Scholarship, you must provide us with a pitch deck that details your plans for a business. Please save the completed essay as a PDF and submit it with the application form on this page, along with other supporting materials, as appropriate. Better Not Younger accepts online applications.
Once you apply, our team will select a winner who will receive $2,500. The winner may be publicly announced. Here at Better Not Younger, we want to offer inspiration to other young women who are interested in opening their own business. The world is waiting for your ideas and your business.
